Tick the box for Enable auto popup dialog when device has been plugged in option. On the right panel, check if you can see a folder icon or an “i” icon. If Realtek HD Audio Manager is available, click it to open. In the Cortana search bar, type in Control Panel, and click it from the search results. Before you begin, disconnect or unplug your audio device from the audio jack. Though you are already using the Bang and Olafson audio control panel, I suggest that you look into the Control Panel > Hardware and Sound and check if the Realtek HD Audio Manager is still installed so you can modify its settings. The auto popup dialog notification that you’ve disabled before is associated with the Realtek HD Audio Manager. Highlight the microphone and then choose “ Set as Default Device“. Right click on Headphone and then click “ Enable“. Right click on the blank space in the popped up window and then select “ Show Disabled Devices” and “ Show Disconnected Devices“. Right click on the volume icon in the system tray and then click “ Recording devices“. If the issue persists, I would suggest you to set the headphone or speaker that you are connecting as default and check if it helps. Now, restart computer and check the issue. Click Enable auto popup dialog when device has been plugged in. Click folder icon just above and to the right of where it says analog back panel and just below Device Advanced settings. Scroll down and select Realtek HD Audio Manager.
